Reading

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I love to read!
It is one of the major reasons I became a middle school English teacher.
My dream is to one day own a used book store.

I love to read all genres, but my absolute favorite is light, humorous fantasy.
Terry Pratchett is my favorite author in this genre.

Other favorite authors: (I own all or almost all of the books by these authors.)
Classics - Jane Austen
Sci-Fi - Anne McCaffrey
Action/Adventure - Clive Cussler
Mystery - Agatha Christie, L.J. Braun, R.M. Brown
Horror - John Saul
Gothic/Romance - Mary Stewart

Me too!!! Even if I have to lock myself in a bathroom to do it or wait til the kids are in bed. I don't get to do it a lot with the kids running around, but I like to give it and a try. My favorite genre to read is Christian Fiction. My favorite Authors are Joyce Meyers, Joni Eareckson Tada, Charles Swindoll. But I also do occassionally read secular books like Mysteries and an occassional Romance and I like V C Andrews.

I've always been an avid reader, too. In fact, when I was growing up my mom actually had to discipline me at times for reading TOO much. As a child, given the chance, I would fall asleep reading at night and then pick up the book and start reading again as soon as I woke up in the morning... before even getting out of bed! Now that life is so busy I don't get to read as much as I'd like. But oh, when I can steal a few minutes of quiet here and there... reading is still my favorite way to relax!

Blessings,
Christy

Smile I love reading...

I have always loved reading and I was always a fast reader. The problem is now that I only have the peace and time to be able to read at night right before bed. I do my Bible Study first and then I pick up whatever it is I am reading....the only problem is, it takes me FOREVER to read one book (and I have so many I have purchased to read - it's not even funny). Why does it take so long...because I read a page and fall asleep!

I used to read VC Andrews a LONG time ago - those books can get a bit crazy but they were a fun read! Now I read John Maxwell and a lot of diet books, gee...wish one of them would work! LOL

My Best,

I really like to read also. I didn't get to do it a lot right after my kids were born, but they are a little older now so I can work it in for a few minutes a day. Right now I'm reading a book about The Lost Boy. It's really good. It's about a foster child and his foster parents. What is some other good books out right now to read?
