Default Free Reading Program

Starfall is better than leap frog plus it is free. My four year old went another reading level with this program.

Unhappy Reading books

I thought this would be a good thing but my son still doesn't want anything to do with it. Its really cool and looks like their books from K but he still won't sound out the words and read them. Grrrrrrrrrrrr I am soo frustrated!

My middle son was like that but you have to find different ways to make it into a game. Try the reward system. Also Leap Frog has a dvd out called The Letter Factory. Try that.

Thanks for the link. My 4 year old is not interested in learning how to recognize the letters of the alphabet or write her name. She does to a point but she says it's boring. I know in time she will want to learn it more especially when she starts preschool soon. Thanks again!

Thumbs up

I love Starfall. I have to saved to my desktop. My daughter has recently turned 3 and loves doing her alphabet on here. She even gets upset if we dont practice before bedtime. She now can read and recognize all of the letters and knows most of the sounds they make as well. I love this site and think its AWESOME!! We have been using it for about 2 months now. I think she will be reading by Christmas.
