Thumbs down Most children's programming is aweful

I can't believe the terrible shows the networks put on TV for children! Our kids have been banned from watching Spongebob Squarepants (or braindead TV, as we call it!) There's so much violence in the shows, and there is very little positive influence at all. Our kids watch very little television. We use it as a reward most of the time. I prefer to let them watch movies on rainy days.

I totally agree. The cartoons they have out for kids now have bad words in them and more less tell you it's ok to cause violence. The radio is another thing that I don't like for my kids to listen to a lot. The songs always talk about ***, drugs, or alcohol. We listen to a lot of kids bible songs and other things like that.

What I really dislike is making cartoons that are for adults. South Park, The Simpsons, King of the Hill... there's a few more out there I know.

Children see a 'cartoon' and think they can watch it. I mean what IS the purpose of making cartoons for adults?

I dont like SpongeBob either. My Dh sees nothing wrong with it, thinks its very funny and doesnt think it will hurt the kids to watch it. I disagree

Another gripe of mine. We took the kids to see a movie *G* rated and one of the previews... had curse words!!! I was just shocked they would show previews when OBVIOSLY there were little kids in the theater as the movie was for kids. Just not right

I HATE Adult Swim on Cartoon Network. It comes on once during the week and once on the weekend. My kids know that they are not to ever watch it, but I think it is terrible that it is even on a children's network!! It should be on its own channel if on at all!!
