Smile Blackboard Placemats

I GOT THIS FROM ANOTHER LIST,I HAVN'T TRIED IT YET.
You will need to cut a piece of fabric, batting and clear vinyl the size of a placemat. For the batting I used a piece of fleece material that I had left from another project. Then I went to Lowes Home Improvement and bought a pint of Chalkboard paint. I think that you can also buy it at Walmart. Paint the vinyl. I rolled it on with a little small roller brush. Once the paint has dried I used the glue in a spray can and glued the back side of fabric to the batting and the batting to the back side of the vinyl. Then I folded the edge of the fabric over the vinyl and sewed using a heavy needle. Once you have sewed around all four sides I used a piece of ribbon and sewed it to the outside against the right side of the fabric. Roll the placemat up and use the ribbon to tie it closed. I also take a small piece of elastic and sew it to the chalkboard. I use this to hold the sponge and chalk. I used a small piece of sponge from my kitchen sponge and wet it. This helps wipe it off after they draw like an eraser.
