I'm thankful for my family and that I could take early retirement to be able to spend more time with them. I'm thankful for my health and my husband's return to good health so we can enjoy life. I'm especially thankful for good friends and that we get to spend so much time with our grandchildren while they are young enough to enjoy being around grandparents!

Like nrstone I lost my mother one year ago. She had cancer, diabetes, breathing problems and heart problems, then fell and broke her hip the day before Thanksgiving and died 2 days later. Losing the last of our older generation (and my greatest friend and supporter) changes your focus on what's important in life. I always remembered the advice Mom gave me when I left for college: "Enjoy your life. Do what makes you happy, just don't do anything that you know you'll regret later."
