homeschooling a child with health and learning difficulties
Hi I started homeschooling about a year and a half ago. My son has health as well as learning problems. He was in ps but, they didn't want to help him or me in any way. He's having a problem remembering what his is taught. Does anyone have any ideas that may help with this struggle? He's 7 now and does well when it comes to working on the computer but, I am trying to teach him to read instead of associating the pictures for what to do next. Help! If you have any ideas please let me know. Thanks

Hands On work?
My 14 yrs. and 7 yrs DD learn by seeing a picture with the word/sentence at the same time...for math they learn better by having things in their hands, like counters...I hope this help! Stephanie

Me too!
We have not taken my youngest (7) son out of PS yet but my ex-hubby and I are talking about it. My youngest was just diagnosed with ADHD. We have been having monthly MEETS, IEP meetings ect and they keep asking us to take him to Dr's Pediatrician, ENT, allergist, etc. Peds finally told him to stop trying to be doctors and teach my son! We are fed up since he is still in 1st grade and not doing good so maybe held back again! Any idea on if we should home school or leave him in PS?
His brother that is a year and a half older than him (just turned 9 on Monday) is in 3rd grade already and doing great!
